Laser Systems
Leamount has substantial pioneering experience in the design, manufacture, and process application of high performance laser drilling and cutting multi axis machines particularly aerospace applications; including
- 5 axis pulsed YAG Laser trepanning and percussion drilling of aero engine components including turbine blade and nozzle guide vane cooling holes; combustion chamber cooling holes as well as forming larger cutouts in combustor components
- CO2 flat bed cutting of sheet metal including: hastalloy; aluminium; and stainless steel
- Advanced precision etching of aircraft surface features on 5 axis machines - including specialist scanner design and integration of pulsed Q fiber laser
- General laser marking and etching processes
Leamount designs and manufactures laser nozzle tooling and supplies a range of beam delivery components including nozzle tips; lenses; cover slides; mirrors; and other beam path components.
Leamount provides design and process consultancy especially concerning multi axis hole trepanning and drilling including trouble shooting and process optimisation.
Leamount also provides general machine design services including mechanical axes design; electrical design; CNC control selection and programming.
Leamount also provides project and/or procurement management services to assist the specification; selection; procurement; build progress; acceptance; and commissioning of multi axis laser systems.
Leamount also provides airflow systems for integration into the laser process cycle - for example a wide range of flame tubes are flow tested on Leamount Suction airflow rigs allowing very tight control on the total effective area of these parts.
